This year we took a short little trip to Nauvoo for our family vacation. The girls love to go and even though it was 100 plus there we still braved the heat and took the trip to meet up with cousins. The girls however did not want to leave their stuffed animals at home so we took a photo of those they would greatly miss and then they could bring the photo with them. As you can see Isa loves big bear. I don't know if you remember that this is the bear she choice to go to school the day they take their stuffed animal for the teddy bear sleep over. He didn't fit into her backpack well and you can imagine he wasn't going to fit into the car well either.
Layla on the other hand was going to miss quiet a few, these are just a couple of the many she had to say goodbye too for the long 38 hours apart!
But off we went in thankfully my Mothers big SUV for a much needed get away!
Damon did go great even with the heat! He was just happy to be with the family on the big adventure!
We went to see our favorite sites, the statue garden, Blacksmith shop, brick shop, bakery, family living center, and visitor center.
And of course the reason we braved the heat during July, the Pagent.
I just LOVE the pagent and coming every year. It is just so nice to sit back and remember those great pioneers that sacrificed so much.
And who can resist that gorgeous temple, ah so glad I got married there!
And the cousins of course! The girls are always shocked where there are whole families of cousins they don't remember, but that is what happens when you have close to forty!
And last we ended the trip with a musical show the girls JUST ADORED! They were so excited to meet the Star! I love girls!
We officially wore them all out for the trip home!
