Loving Coral
I am trying to get together my shopping list for my graduation/white coat outfit. Lots I have the cardigan already. And I know it is summer but if you have ever been in an auditorium with thousands of people you know that it is FREEZING and a light sweater is a must. I also have the pearls, however mine are my grandma's and I am trying to wear them more! I love the color of the dress.... it seems to becoming a staple in my wardrobe these days. And really can a girl ever get enough shoes?

New Birthday Tradition
My little mini me is having her 5th birthday next week. CRAZY how fast 5 years flew. We decided to go out to dinner after our trip downtown. And since my all time FAVORITE mexican restaurant is just down the street from crown center we stopped by. When Brian took the kids to the bathroom I contacted our waitress for setup a little surprise for the birthday girl to be. And anyone who knows Isa knows this could have turned out bad. SHE HATES to get attention in public. But lately she has really been coming out of her shell and I thought i might give it a shot. And as you can tell from the photos, it was a hit. So a new tradition of going to Manny's for HER birthday as well as mine has been started. It is cute because i think i have about 14 photos of me wearing the same hat in the same restaurant. Oh it makes me smile!

Kaleidoscope is now off the bucket list, however we will probably go back again this summer because it is SO FUN and we just love it there. The girls are now used to everything and had a blast taking me from on project to another. Brian didn't make it back to go with us but that was okay cause I enjoyed the time with my girls. I forget how fast they are growing up until I look at photos of them and see how much they have matured. My little girls are growing up before my lenses.
Jungle Kids
Friday Brian needed to go to his school to print off his final copy of his thesis for publication. Big day I know! So the girls and I tagged along and had him drop us off at Crown Center on his way to school. We have on our bucket list to visit Kalidescope so we figured we would keep ourselves busy while he did his thing and then we would all meet back up for a family session.
Of course his stuff too longer than expected but that if fine because the girls and I had a blast. First stop of course was the candy store. And the casher was very impressed that out of all the candy there they picked, Hot tamales. Kids after my own heart! The new exhibit (I don't know if you can really call it that but you know the traveling stuff that fills up the room Santa is usually in!) was all about Rain forests. the girls had a blast learning about bugs, animals, and exploring. Here are a few photo highlights.

Plant a Plant
My bucket list should say plant but instead thanks to my little knowledge of photoshop I did not use spell check (does it have it???) and it says plant a plat! So no plats for us but LOTS of plants. Vegetables to be exact. We started out with small little plants.
Layla even grew some tiny little plants from a couple of bean seeds. You know the way Kindergarteners do in class for earth day. Well I am pleased to announce they are HUGE and have out grown 3 pots. We are in need of some more soil but for now they are in their new home the GIANT pot outback!
You may also note a small sprout growing with him. He will be getting his own pot tomorrow, that is Mr. Corn who Layla proudly began to grown out of a single corn kernel in a plastic bag in the window at school. My has he grown.

Lastly we have our peppers. They were only a couple inches tall on Mother's Day when they came to live at our house. But thanks to a lot of care and attention they are growing beautifully. I talk to them often telling them sorry for the bugs and I spray them at least once a week with their special dish soup mix to keep those darn aphids away. They attacked them once and almost killed them all but I spent an hour cleaning every leaf and prayed for a week they would survive. And thank you Heavenly Father for saving them they are my babies and I love them dearly. I will be enjoying a HUGE batch of salsa come fall.
These are my lovely bell pepper plants. We have 2 red and 2 orange. I am SO EXCITED!
These are our cayenne peppers. I hope we like them because we have over 50 already!
So what do you think? Peppers are my new favorite plants, mostly because I haven't killed them yet!

What did you do your first two weeks of vacation. We lived at the pool. And that means mom in the pool re-teaching kids what they mastered last year thus leaving me with only two photos. But trust me there will be more to come and videos of our newly mastered skills.
Farmstead visit
I am young but somehow feel old. You know the feeling right? All my children will attend elementary school next year. If I am not mistaken that is a positive sign I have entered into adulthood. However, when you are under 30 and attending the PTO meetings and chat up with the other moms and calculate that they graduated college when you were just meeting your mate (in high school) you feel a bit young.
After checking out the cows and tee pees we worked up a hunger and needed a snack before playing in the park section.
I was super proud of these two girls because sometimes they get sick of their "friends" (we consider cousins, or our one day hope to officially be cousins, our friends!) and are ready to go home. They played all week long and were so sad to see them go!
I love that I am a young mom. I am not super young by "church" standards because I was 22 when I began a family NOT 18. However in a world where careers and education post-pone child bearing I am on the young side. This I know and I embrace. Where is this all going and how in the world does it have to do with a farm I am sure you are wondering.
I took a trip to the nearby farmstead with my mother and 5 little girls between the ages of 6 and 1. And funny enough all of them could by timing be mine. And besides the magical rainbow of colors they brought to the picture they all followed me around and called me mama.
The "big" girls (Layla 6 Brook 5 and Isa 4) walked around the entire place and Layla was at the helm as our tour guide for the day. She taught us all more than we ever cared to know about cows and native Americans. (if you have been to Deanna Rose you get why these were big topics!) The "babies" Charlie 20 months and Jheda 11 months enjoyed strolling around in the lap of luxury eating their pounds of puffs!
Every good farm visit begins with feeding the goats!
Isa really showed the "babies" how brave she was as close as she could manage!
Brooke did well as long as the goats minded their manners, not climbing on her or she will completely flip out!

And what is a trip with Seven girls without a pony ride really, is it possible, doesn't every girl want their own pony?
Last a bit of swinging and then off home!
So after many, many, MANY looks like I am a crazy mother with WAY too many kids in such a short amount of time. We headed home and rested before spending 4 hours at the pool and another 2 hours playing at home. And just note this is simply DAY 1 of the busy week with cousins!
