Tagged- Here is a little bit about me!
The rules:
A. The rules of the game are posted at the beginning.
B. Each player lists 6 facts/habits about themselves.
C. At the end of the post, the player then tags 6 people and posts their names, then goes to their blogs and leaves them a comment, letting them know that they have been tagged and asking them to read your blog.
Six Interesting things:
1. I am a clean freak. I have to have a clean house or I just can't function. I have two kids so it doesn't have to be "picked up" ALL the time, I do let the girls play without going ballistic. However nothing is worse then a dirty bathroom or fingerprints on my TV. Needless to say the girls and i have "cleaning time" everyday when I let them help me with my chores. (They enjoy it, really, I'm not going against child labor laws or anything!)
2. My passion in life is HAIR! It is really hard to sit in church and pay attention to the talks without mentally coloring, cutting, and styling every head that sits in front of me. And I think it is child abuse to purposely cut your child's hair in a mullet. When I see a kid with one I shed at least one tear for that poor little soul. But really most moms don't want to work or don't want to have to, not me. If I could work just one night a week doing what I love I would be the happiest mom in the world!
3. I love to cook and experiment with food. I am not big on following a recipe when it comes to making dinner. I like to have fun try new things with what might be a 5 ingredient recipe. And to go along with this, i am a little bit on the self-righteous side. I do believe I am a great cook!
4. I love thunderstorms that rock the whole house. To describe a perfect day it would have to be sitting on the front porch while watching the sky turn purple and smell the rain rolling in. I love opening the windows and letting that smell fill the whole house. I love counting the time between the lightning and the first sound of thunder to see how close the storm is. And when it is just a mile away I stand outside until the rain finally arrives. And a perfect night is falling asleep to the thunder rattle the house and shake my bed.... ahhh i miss the Midwest!
5. I constantly feel like I am stuck in a rut. It doesn't matter if it is not getting enough done around the house, trying to plan fun stuff to do with the girls, cooking anything exciting and new. To remind myself i am doing well I MAKE LISTS. I am sure it drives my husband nuts. I have a schedule for the girls so that everyday we make sure to do something worth taking a picture of. Then there is a meal list that plans out what i am fixing for the next two weeks. And last the chore list that I make every night for the next day. I am sure this condition is border line OCD but that is the only way I survive not going crazy, to look at my list and say "Hey i did a lot today i should be proud of myself!"
6. I love to watch movies. I think my obsession began when I was 16 working my first job at the Blue Springs Cinema. But now really it is a little crazy. I think we own over 350 movies and there is always a list of 50 more i would love to have. I don't know what it is about watching them that makes me so happy but maybe it is that there is always something out there that is going to make me feel good no matter my mood! Who knows what it is but at least Brian likes movies too so it works for us. We are just the crazy movie buffs!
Now I tag: Jessica Bjorn, Kelly Munns, Rachel Robertson, Jenn Evans, Stephanie Heaton, and Kristi Clews.

Attempting to get a good Picture!
Loving Aunt Lysa!
Testing out the dance mat!
We went over to Kathy's house Sunday night after church for dinner and to hang out with Lysa and Laine. Kathy got this dance mat which is a take off of dance dance revolution to see if the grandkids might like it. If any of you have played dance dance revolution then you would agree that this is so not good. The girls liked it though and it was fun to watch them play on it. We enjoyed making fun of the game until it started to break. So here are a few pictures of our little family dance team trying out their moves for the family!

One of those days!!!
Survival mode has hit a new high today! After fixing a scrambled egg and hot chocolate breakfast I got both girls dressed, hair fixed, myself dressed, and 7 loads of laundry folded. All that was left was a quick bathroom break for Layla and shoes on and we would be out the door. So I put her on the toilet had her do her thing and then put shoes on them. While putting Layla's shoes on I smelled something yucky and then it hit me; it literally hit me, a huge wet spot on both her and me. She totally peed all over us. After getting all cleaned, redressed, and starting another new load of laundry (#8) we were out the door.
When we got home the girls were happy to see that Brian was home to see us in between classes. We were trying to have a good time together, but like I said they don't like us talking or being in the same room now that we are full of love as you could say it. So Layla had a fit that we were scheduling the day without her involvement. She went hysterical and was yelling and back talking. It was one of her best tantrums I must say. Brian was in shock this was his first viewing of Layla's alter ego. And the great husband he is, he decided to take care of it for me. That went as well as I had hoped. He calmed her down and got her to say sorry or at least what i think was supposed to be sorry.
But the moment he looked at me and smiled she flipped and it was a huge tantrum again. This time i thought, hey, she needs a moment to gather herself so I will provide her with one. So i escorted her to her room and shut the door. About 5 minutes of screaming and banging on the door got her to calm down and we were back to normal, well behaved Layla.
Now in a perfect world that would be the end of my day but no no no it has only begun. Next I did a few haircuts while the girls only mildly destroyed my perfectly clean house and it was lunch time. I thought it might be nice to have cookies with our lunch so I left the table for a mere 2 minutes to get them out and pour some milk for the girls. When I turned around I saw a lunch full of spaghetti sauce all over my entire kitchen. I am not quite sure how but they didn't miss a wall, counter, curtain or ceiling. I figured it was best for everyone if it was just nap time. Surprisingly the girls went down without a fight and I had a moment to rest.
It was now getting to be my lunch time so i sat down with my comfort food and was ready for a little bit of quiet. Then it happened as if in slow motion I reached for my glass of crystal light and watched as it slowly fell to the floor changing it to a horrible shade of red. I sat for a moment in total shock. I don't know if any of you have ever tried to get red crystal light out of your carpet but let me tell you it is near impossible. So for the last 3 hours I have been cleaning the carpet with everything I can think of. I am now doing another load of laundry (#9) and have gotten the carpet to a very pale pink. I have a magical machine that gets out all stains but of course I used up all the cleaner with this morning pee pee incident! I tried to call Brian and was sad to hear his phone ringing in the next room because of course today of all days he would leave his cell phone home and is in class until 5.
In case you think that you might have had a similar day just as bad, I will let you know that I win, mine is the worst because to top it all off I have the thought of going to the doctor on Monday for what most likely is a bleeding ulcer! And on that note I hope this post will help you think, my day could have been a heck of a lot worse thank goodness I too have survived yet another day!

Newlyweds all over again!
As most of you know Brian and I have been married for almost 4 years. In that time I think we have battled every trial there is out there or at least one in every category. Life hasn't been easy and somehow we have managed to get through it. But over years we have become a settled married couple. We lost that fire that kept us always coming back to each other for a whole decade. This past weekend we spent every moment together talking, I mean really talking about everything under the sun. After finally reconnecting we are like silly teenagers again. The girls are so confused and having a hard time adjusting to the new and improved MOM AND DAD. Everytime they turn around we are cuddled up on the couch, kissing in the corner, talking only inches apart, you know how it is just totally gross but cute! It is fantastic and really is a long time needed! So for all couples that have been together for more than a couple years make time to reconnect so you too can gross out your kids! And for those still gross and in love work hard to keep that! And for the hoping for marriage strive to find someone that make you rethink PDA cause you just can't get enough of them!
I always wanted to be so in love everyday that I wouldn't care if my kids saw us kissing in the kitchen every time we saw each other after a long day apart. I remember when I was 15 and went to stay with family in California. I had gone out there to get over my broken heart after Brian moved to Idaho. While staying out there I watched my Aunt and Uncle everyday come home and kiss in the kitchen. Now my parents never kissed in front of us or at least nothing more than a peak. So I thought that seeing so called "old people" kissing and all over each other would make me sick but to my surprise I thought it was awesome. I realized that is what I wanted to be older and still have that heat! I know that four years isn't very long to be married but I figure we have been together over 10 years and for just a nose graze to make me gitty like a 14 year old is quite impressive! So cheers to love and making out in the kitchen!

Blast Off
To top off a great day on wednesday night we headed down to I.F. to a fun play place called blast off. The girls had such a wonderful time and I actually really enjoyed myself as well. Brian and I were exhausted when we were down but it was worth it all the way to see the girls have such a good time!

Leaves at the Park!!!
Playing at the Park with Mom!
Last Wednesday was a fun day with the girls. Brian came home from school to see us so we all went to Sonic to get the girls their favorite Popcorn chicken and fries. We dropped Brian off at class and us girls headed to the park. It was so fun to watch them play together on the playground. I am amazed how fast they have grown up. It just seems like yesterday I was all nervous while Layla played afraid she would slip or fall off. Now she goes around all by herself and helps her little sister get around too. I couldn't believe it but by the end little Isa could climb up to the top and go down the big slide all by herself. (while layal to help supervise of course!)
