My little chef

Layla is very into cooking right now. So she made herself dinner sunday since I was just way too slow for her. Don't you love her spread. It includes grapes, pb&j, just plan jam and bread (what she calls it thanks barbie!) and cheerios. I thought it was a pretty healthy.

She also couldn't decide on a drink so she had all of them. Such a girl!

Baby shower

I so wish I had taken pictures of the gifts I made my little sister before I gave them to her but oh well maybe I will sneak by one day and take a few. Anyways she is by far the cutest prego girl around so I just had to share a few fun pictures.

The quilt is the rag one a made a few months back. It was the only one she hadn't seen. She LOVED Hello Kitty when she was a kid so we kind of made that the theme for a lot of her gifts. She LOVED them, which is good cause we LOVE her!

Pretty and shiny.

My new darling

After six and a half years of marriage we finally bought a second car. Isn't she beautiful. She is a 2008 Nissan Versa. She has cruise control, blue tooth, six cd changer, power locks and is totally keyless. I lock our house door put the keys in my purse and don't pull them out till I get home. This saves me so much time. It takes long enough with the girls to go anywhere without the hassle of keys, where are they,where did I put them,did I lock the car.... no more. Also and this part I am getting used to, our car never shifts. You know when you speed up the on ramp to the freeway and the car shifts so you know you are going about sixty five....ours doesn't it is smooth all the way to one forty....I have to watch my speedometer a lot more but I am getting used to it. I will name her soon, any suggestions?

Why did I grow you for so long?

Most of you have seen this picture before as my facebook profile but I am bored and want to blog so today's subject my hair. I love love love my new cut. I had this same cut in beauty school a decade ago. And yes it has been that long sad isn't it, I am getting old. Anyways I thought that I might cut off enough to make myself feel new and fresh but when it came down to choosing a style I realized I still need a ponytail.

It is silly to think that a mother of two that is already runny around thinking "when will I get a chance to shower" can get a must fix cut. I LOVE my pixie and one day when i have more time and energy to put into my hair I will go for it but for now shoulder length works for me. The best part is that it takes NO TIME to fix. If you include a shower, deep condition, and fixing it takes a total of 15 minutes. Once I am out of the shower 6 minutes tops! I love that I just blow dry it and go. Plus my hair loves that it isn't being burned from a flat iron or curling iron all the time. And curly I just moose and go. There isn't need to blow dry at all. I LOVE IT. Now I am sure this isn't the case for everyone with my cut because there are many who are puzzled by a round brush.

In my house it will be a must learn by 10. The key to great hair is the round brush trick. You get all you need in just a second and less damage. So all in all I love the cut. Now every once in a while I think I miss my long down to the bra strap or past hair but then I shower and use a quarter size shampoo and have NO split ends and I remember oh yeah you don't miss it at all!

P.S. one day when I post a picture of myself you will see the wonderful results of my 4 miles a day run but don't worry I am still awaiting those results myself.... I am reminding myself I giggle less so that must been more muscle right... small is just around the corner!

Easter Morning

This year was the first morning we have had easter in our home since every year there seems to be something keeping us from having a normal easter. So we had to blend family traditions. We will have to continue to change things a little bit until we get to right but for this year it worked out great.

Tradition 1: The easter bunny hides the baskets for the kids. We asked Mr. Bunny to hold off on this until the girls are a bit older that way they don't think that he just didn't come. Plus our apartment doesn't leave many hiding spots at the moment.

Tradition 2: The hidden eggs. In Brian's family they hid real eggs... in mine that was not allowed. We lost a few too many real eggs and decided to stick to the plastic. Now this is a bonus for the girls that Brian is enjoying. We always had about 60 plastic eggs for the 4 kids. That means that this year we had about the same for our two and of course the parents. I loved having each egg stuffed with candy to find. it made the hunt so fun because you tried to find not just more eggs but the "right" eggs with your kind of candy.

Tradition 3: What is in the basket.... a present, some clothes whether socks, underwear, pj's, or a bow we love it all. Brian got pj's and the girls got socks. Then you get candy just for you of course. I know it sounds like a lot of candy but if my dad the dentist let it happen then it is fine with me.

Tradition 4: The big egg. In our house my dad always got a giant egg full of m&m's each year. Sometimes he even got a fancy candy machine. But we carried on the tradition and brian got his peanut m&m egg.

Tradition 5: Breakfast. Since we colored eggs and I would not allow us to hide the real eggs.... it makes the house smell, then we used them for his breakfast. Creamed eggs on toast. Even though we haven't spend easter always together I have always made this for him sometime easter week. It is good but I think I might be hard pressed to convince the world of that. But we like it and that is what matters. The girls even ate some this year.

Anyways all in all it was a great easter. We spend the morning at home watching conference coloring a million pictures of baptism, the prophet, temples, and Jesus. And then watched the second half at my parents. Followed by a nice quiet easter dinner with family. It was perfect and we had a good spiritual uplifting holiday!

Such a good easter we just didn't make it through the movie during clean up.
