our new favorite place

Isa loves to play at Mcdonalds. we have found a nice big quiet play place by our house. on lazy days we come to fill up the free time before picking up Layla. if other kids are there she doesn't want to play. but on quiet moments like today you can hear her giggle and narrate her adventures. it is cute and makes my day whole.

big steps for my little girl

Today was a big day for miss Isa. today Isa had a friend come play just with her while her sister was at school. At first she happily played a silent bit of Barbies and little princesses. then I tried to help the chit chat but alas I did not help. So we had a snack and pulled out some nail polish and Voila instant friends. The play date ended with a couple of giggly, lip gloss covered, nail polished girls.

New workout for a new goal

Maybe a half dozen of you have wondered around this blog and come across new finds and probably know why I need yet another workout plan. For those of you who have no clue don't worry I'll fill you in later. On to the post,

I am taking a stab at Jillian Michael's Thirty day Shred. I don't have time for P90X right now with all the crazy running around. However 20 minutes I think I can do. And after finishing my first workout I think it is enough for me right now. And I have no crazy ideas that I will loose weight with this plan. I need to build some muscle to raise my metabolism to keep my thyroid medicine working. Right now I am lucky to pull myself out of bed with one eye open at 8 and that really has to change. Plus I think falling asleep to Hannah Montana with the girls 4 days a week really needs to change. I have NO energy and am hardly making it from sun up to sun down. Crazy workout maniacs tell me that getting exercise is going to help. So I am giving it a 30 day try. After that we will see how I am feeling.

Life around here is a bit slower this week. No baby showers or parties really. Just activities, scouts, broadcasts, dinners, visits, feeding missionaries, house work and babysitting two days. So all in all it is realitivly slow. The following week not so much. But weeks are flying by and time is moving along. And I am proud to say Brian is doing fantastic is school. Seeing that most of his grades come from papers I feel like "I" am also doing well in school. As much as Brian reads and studies his papers are most of the grades and that means LOTS of editing done by none other than the dazingly brunette typing. When Brian gets a 100 I feel like I am earning it too!

It reminds me that I kind of miss school but not enough to go back now. I will have to finish eventually seeing that I am just over a semester from finishing. I just have to finish online from BYU and get my degree there. I am glad I finish my associates but it would be nice to have that bachelors up there too. And then one day a master's maybe. But for now I am happy to put up my licence and one degree with photos of my best and hardest work..... my kids and hubby!

I think I am rambling now so I am ending with a cartoon because they are fun.

CMH and hopefully our last visit, for a while at least!

Okay so after months of working with Isa and her sleep problems we met with a sleep specialist. We are happy that over the last two months things have gotten better. She is screaming less and sleeping a little more. We will be trying some allergy and sinus meds for a while and then reevaluate her. It will hopefully magically go away but I am realistic and know that might not be the case. But for now we are enjoying only waking up a couple times to crying not screaming.

She is now sadly sleeping in the next room coughing up a storm thanks to the change in weather. HOPEFULLY this will be the first of many "cold" that stay colds. We have yet to experience a cold or allergies. We somehow always end up on a nebulizer with croup, phenomena, or RSV. So here is to hoping we make it through this will allergies or a cold. I might just have to celebrate if we keep that breathing machine neatly packed in its summer home.

I wish kids came with instruction manuals, you know where they have a section that says if this begins to ______ simply push ________ to reboot. Oh if only. But I love Isa all the same flaws and stress the same. She is wonderful. Tonight she snuck out of bed to pick up three hidden stuffed animals. She walked in with big furry slippers, bend down to pick up three fully dressed bears, turned around to show her nightgown tucked into her undies, then said "I fee got these" before waddling off is a prance/scurry! And that is why we love Isa... she makes you smile and go "gosh I love you" when she is doing something natty!

Here is to my Isa and her irresistible smile!

Time....

I never quite know where it goes and how to find more. I have about 30 seconds before I must turn over the next load of laundry, hop into the shower, get dressed, feed children, get them dressed, and begin shuttling kids around for the day. THANKFULLY today is the least busy day of my week and I can take a deep breath. I wonder all the time how I managed without a car... then it occurred to me I never could leave so I didn't have to. Now all I do is run around. Plus in Rexburg you don't need a car too much. Brian had a bike and I had a car the last year and that was great. When we moved here no one was in school, we HAD a set schedule and frankly no friends so it was easy to plan our days. Now I think I have too much to do and too little time to do it in. The babysitting here keeps us really busy. Now I have added my little niece into the mix which makes things all the more interesting. And Layla and school well I had no idea the busyness. Oh well I am not bored so that is good right. Aside from sobbing moments where I feel completely inadequate as a mother I am doing well. But I think that is where blogging keeps me sane. I am not the only mother who feels like life is on fast forward and she can't manage to find pause. And I am also not the only one feeling like everyone else is on another chapter that we just can't quite get to yet.

I am a grad/med student's wife which means long nights and lonely days. I am a PTO mom which means meetings and parties galore. I am a soccer mom per say... we don't do soccer but dance and it all keeps you busy! I am a primary teacher and I feel like I am just so close to getting through to them and then just so far away from where I want to be all at the same time. And somedays I am cool and others old. I am a mother of girls which means drama drama drama. I am a nanny which makes me happy and crazy at once. You care for children that are not yours that you send home. And that sums it up. You care for meaning tend to their needs. And it means care for which means you love those little mushy things, and then send them home. It makes you crazy cause you work so hard and they aren't yours to claim when they succeed. And it makes you happy because you don't have to do the midnight feeding and make all the hard decisions for them.

Basically I am busy and I feel like life is going much faster than I can keep up with. And there are a million things I want and can't have or at least not yet. And I find myself feeling like a failure on a daily basis. But then you find your children playing together happy for four hours straight no fighting but actual laughter and you think to yourself...   "I must have done something right along the way" and you keep going!

Can I just say I LOVE these comics. From now on they are the picture for my moments I need to vent. I don't take photos of myself but these definitely do the trick!

I like TV so what about it

Some of my friends do a speechless post every once in a while. I love this idea but really I like to type too much to leave a post blank. So since I love tv and movies and watch WAY TOO MUCH I thought I would change it up a little and simply post a picture with a favorite quote that fits the picture. I would like to say I will do this once a week but well I am unpredictable lately so I will just say I will do this when I have something to share and no time to share it!  Here is the first one just to get you excited!

"Sometimes it's the boring stuff I remember the most!"

P.S. if you want to take a stab and guessing the quote just leave me a comment and I will let you know if you get it!

Thanks

Thank you for all the wonderful birthday wishes. I thought I would share my little slice of heaven and very busy week! Sunday we had a little family birthday. The girls got me this lovely gift as I posted earlier. And Brian got me new pots and pans.

My other gifts tricked in until today. I got a  few scentsy tins for my car.... I love it! And my wonderful husband thought to gather all my maternity clothes from around the globe so that when we need them I will have them and won't stress about not having something to wear. And NO I AM NOT and I will let you know IF and WHEN later, just saying.

On my actual birthday my sweet sister came over and hung out while the girls slept so that Brian and I could go see Eclipse. In case you didn't know I am a huge Twilight Fan and hadn't had a chance to see Eclipse since I was mad I couldn't see it with Kristi this year.  I protested and almost didn't get to see it in theaters. But my hubby knows me well and took me out.

I also got flowers which was a big surprise since I am not sure if I have had flowers since we were first married. I usually think they are a waste of money but they were small, sweet and my favorite and I LOVE THEM!!!!

Then last night we finished off my birthday at MANNY'S like usual. I will try to collect most of the photos and post them sometime but I go to this restaurant every year for my birthday because it is my favorite. I get the same thing and love it SO MUCH. Ah my Monterrey burrito, the best!
I am feeding my new little buddy Jheda, love her!

Thank you dad for my wonderful dinner every year... and for loving it as much as me! (P.S. isn't my sister gorgeous, and only 10 weeks post baby! We so don't have the same genetics can't you tell!)
And Brian was there too he took the photos but forgot one of himself.

This week has been crazy as well. Saturday I spent 6 hours cleaning my dirty house and doing 12 loads of laundry. School is somehow multiplying my work load. I have to get dressed and look alive 6 days a week now.... I don't know how I feel about this. Oh and Layla was the star of the week so we made her poster and info sheet all about Layla.
Doesn't she look so grown up lately, or is it just me!?

Then in the afternoon ( Saturday) I had a baby shower, birthday party, and planned my lesson.  Sunday of course you heard about. Then monday I spent with the girls playing BARBIES and then the afternoon I helped my Grandma. These were my assigned Barbies to play with. Don't you like and wish you were there!!!!

Anyways taking my Grandma out for fun and it is nice that she lives close. I also cut her hair and settled her back home just in time to go to pick up Layla, cook dinner and then do some more laundry. Yes more laundry it never ends!

Lets see tuesday I learned to make tamales after attempting that afternoon to take care of four kids. That was fun and mad me realize that I am not cut out for two more close, I will be taking a break between children the next time around IF we have two more. What we want and what we can do you know are totally different stories. I promised Brian that I would live to raise them not just bring them here and keel over!

Since then I have had another shower, dinner of course yesterday, grocery shopping for the month, and birthday lunch and dance class. Tomorrow is no slow day because we have our little shannon over and then movie night and rev up for more house work saturday. I am beginning to realize that the quiet days of getting things done at my pace are done. I am now simply attempting to survive.

Anyone else tired just after reading this post, I am so I am off to get ready for bed!
